Good luck with Etsy. A friend of mine tried to sell stuff on there, but had problems with the website. Her customers had problems placeing orders, and worse, in some cases the orders never came to her! She didn't know about them until after she had an irate customer. Tread lightly with Etsy, I haven't heard many good things about them, which is a shame because I would love to sell my handmade blank books over there.

Hi! I love Etsy but don't forget to check out ArtFire too. They have no listing fees! Many people have a shop on Etsy and Art Fire. On Art Fire the items don't have to be hand made but many are. They have grown tremendously in the short time they've been in business. I'm not connected to them except as a customer and signed up for a store which I've done nothing with yet. I just think it's a great venue especially with the lack of listing fees. It operates otherwise pretty much the same as Etsy. I love perusing both sites and seeing all the wonderful products. I love the retro items and all the art items- jewelry, books, all the kind of mixed-media art I do so I like to see others too. I've had great experiences on both sites when buying.

Hi Niki.... The price of this book now ($21.97) is still a good bargain in my opinion. It's a real "how-to" for rewriting PLR.

That said... if English isn't your "first language" you would need a punctuation and grammar tutorial for sure.

Those of you that have been following me for a while might be saying "Debra - you should get a punctuation, grammar and spelling tutorial". LOL

Thanks, Debra, for bringing this ebook to my attention. The new price is $21.97.

I'm debating if I need this book or an English Grammar and punctuation tutorial. Making peace with my first and only language may require a therapist instead.

Blessings!

Hi Gma... yes I've seen lot's of "kits" and gift baskets on Etsy. I'm not convinced that those sellers are not violating the TOS on Etsy. They specifically state that combining a bunch of retail products in a creative way does not make it "handmade"...

The fact that Etsy actually addresses this specifically... makes me a bit gun shy. I'll keep it in mind to sell on Etsy if I can have proof that it's actually "legal". LOL

I believe that their is more to having an Etsy shop than just having products to sell. I think their is marketing to do... and I'm sure we will all figure out what makes it all work eventually. We just have to stick together and stick with it.

Ken.... I've seen that Etsy can be a good platform for selling. I know you have to have "the right stuff"... and you also have to be "found". I think all of us working together can make it happen. We just need to keep pushing and creating. Rome wasn't built in a day. LOL

Thanks so much for the referral. I need all the help I can get and feel pretty spread thin and pulled in many directions. I need to get anchored. : ) Do you have info on writing and posting your ebooks? Please advise at my website above, so it will alert me to your info. Thanks so much. Joanne

Debra, I don't see why you wouldn't want to sell your bundles on Etsy. Just do a search for birthday party kits and you will see that they are sold there. Also check out gift baskets and such and you will find that they are being sold there. The minute that you put a bundle together, it is considered handmade as you took something and created something else.

I had Etsy shops for quite a while and really didn't get far. I might try them again for my craft supplies, bead patterns and such. I will have to wait and see.

Debra,
This gave me a new idea to try with the Amazon Bundle Project. Will fill you in as I develop it. It may overcome some of my hurdles with my original bundle idea. Thanks for the post and you sold a book.

Debra,

Thanks for mentioning the Etsy 101 book. I will definitely get it. My wife opened up an etsy store about the same time you did. We gave it a try after your blog post about it. So far it has been a real disappointment. I agree that the people seem really nice and helpful. They have some really great things to offer on the site, but we haven't sold a thing. We are really having a hard time getting a feel for what people are interested in purchasing. Craft supplies seems to do well, but otherwise I am not sure what works. We are excited to see what you come up with and what kind of luck you have. In the meantime we will buy Etsy 101 and read that.
