Work Is Getting In The Way Of The Fun Stuff

I really do try to avoid anything that resembles Work... I want everything in my business to feel like Fun Stuff.

I’ve added a few (many) spinning plates (new projects and websites etc) which means I need to work my tail off to get some of them finished and working on their own.  :)

One of my new projects is all about images (and the selling of) which I am just loving and I love the fact that it feels like Fun Stuff! I just haven’t been able to “get to it” as much as I want (hardly at all) because of all the “work” stuff that needs to be finished up.

I’ve been learning and researching – and I have created several images that I would put up for sale… but they aren’t good enough.  You have to realize that I’m Not That Picky!

I will never have the perfect product… If I tried I’d never have “Anything” for sale.

But ~ images must be close to perfect.  They must capture someone (hopefully a buyer) in the heart or mind or they just have to think it’s cool enough to “Need” it.

I promise that I will share more of my images and how I came up with some of my ideas soon… it’s still a work in progress.

I do have a funny story to share from one of your fellow readers:

Hi Debra,

I thought would share a little adventure…

I had about 25 PD illustrations that I needed printed, so I figured out how to use Sam’s club photo kiosk (the people don’t know anything)….it took some time but I have the formula down.

So I put in my order, and go on to shop while I wait for the photos to be printed…ten min later the photo dept calls all in a panic saying I HAVE TO COME TO THE PHOTO DEPT IMMEDIATELY.

yeah right…so I go back….and this woman is in a panic attack saying I can’t print these, they are not mine, etc etc…

I explain to her, and she finally makes me sign a waiver of liability etc, which she will keep on file etc…but she is still not happy…she just KNOWS I’m doing something wrong….

Then amazingly they ran out of paper, it has been five days now, and I get a call that my prints (one hour) are now done.

I’m sure they had to have a legal opinion and management etc on this one…just one of the many PD adventures Im sure I’m in for…..

Name Withheld to protect him from the Sam’s Club Photo Dept.  “authorities”… ;)

Now – I’m on the hunt for a Public Domain “friendly” photo image processor… if you know of any – please leave a comment.

One of the projects that is finished up (for now) is the WhatToSellForMoney.com site and the new uPDates that have been added in.

I have a little tool that I’m now using for creating these uPDates and I just love love love it!  In fact I use it Every Day!  I’m also using it to research eBay for product information in my Amazon Arbitrage business.

Auction Spy

I have pulled my Recommendation of Auction Spy Off This Site

They are no longer answering customer support questions.

I will not put up with poor customer service.

Honest! If you were in my office right now – I could show you in just a few minutes how to find your own next hot selling product… because you will be able to see what others are selling right now.

I use this tool to find out what is selling like hotcakes on eBay and then transfer that knowledge to buy/sell products on Amazon.  It’s working out really well (I’m still in the early stages of this part of my business).

Okay… got to get back and keep my spinning plates from crashing into broken pieces. :)

I’m here for ya…

Try Walgreens Drug store, They do all my prints and haven’t any problem. I send my photos to their website and they are ready in an hour or less…

My grandaughter is professional photographer and Sam’s gives her a hassle every time she tries to get prints there.

My nephew took professional quality photos of my daughters wedding and I had trouble with Walmart not wanting to make copies of them because they looked “professional”. Dah! Since they couldn’t find any studio mark on them they finally copied them, but they weren’t happy about it.

Debra if you find someone, will you let us know? I’ve been trying to find someone to print some PD pics and haven’t found anyone yet either.
