SearchSpy – The “Laziest” Way of Stimulating New Product Ideas Ever!

Are you struggling to come up with ideas for info product topics and niche markets to pursue online?

Here’s a fun free tool that practically guarantees a notebook full of ideas to explore.

This tool has got to be the laziest way of stimulating new ideas that I have ever seen – and that’s a good thing!

It literally hands you idea after idea on a silver platter and all you have to do is kick your feet up and watch as these ideas are presented to you one at a time.

What is it?

It’s SearchSpy by Dogpile.com and it let’s you view what people are typing into the Dogpile search engine in real time (or as close as one can realistically get).

Here’s how you can use this simple yet powerful tool…

  1. Grab a notebook and a pen or your preferred method of quickly capturing ideas. I prefer a voice recorder because its quicker and the ideas will be coming at you fast.
  2. Visit the the SearchSpy tool by clicking here. NOTE: The actual tool will look a little different than what you see in the images accompanying this article but the tool still works the same.
  3. Make sure the “Omit adult terms” checkbox is checked unless you want to see a whole bunch of kinky stuff (it’s amazing what some people will type into a search engine 8-O ).
  4. Sit back and watch as search terms are being entered into Dogpile and presented to you. Jot down whatever catches your fancy as soon as you see it. Don’t stop to think about it, just capture it for further exploration later.

Often times you’ll see things that you’ve even heard of before. If they intrigue you, capture them. You can always research a little and find out what they are later.

Continue this for somewhere between 20-30 minutes and I can guarantee you that you’ll have at least a few pages worth of interesting ideas to pursue.

Take the most intriguing things from the list that you have just created and do a little Googling to find out more about the subject.

Who knows? By exploring these ideas you have generated you may just uncover that hidden untapped niche that you have been searching for and better yet you may discover the perfect topic to create an info product about for that niche!

Have fun!

What a wonderful website and what a great service it is to bloggers of all niches and interests. Until now I had battled to find images to use for my blogs – I have 4. Now, however, this is the first place that I come to and I look forward to the valuable newsletters too. Many thanks Debra and Logan

Great site. Thanks.

I had to uncheck the ‘Omit Adult Terms’ box and that took the porn sites away, so something is amiss there.

I’m looking forward to sitting for 1/2hr with pen & paper. I only had a quick squiz this time :-)

Hi Christine,

I’m not sure when but the”omit adults terms” quit working either way for some reason. Even with it unchecked as you described above, some hard core stuff still gets displayed at times. It’s still a great tool for jogging your mind, just make sure the kids are not in the room while you’re using it ; )
