Now aquarium science has definitely progressed since 1944 however this guide is far from irrelevant. In fact the species information and images are still incredibly accurate and informative.
In addition to fish species, this book covers amphibians including frogs, reptiles – yes snakes and turtles included, and anything that is typically kept in an aquarium or terrarium.
They information provided is organized in a manner which makes it easy to simply take the information and copy it to a card. The card could be laminated to make a fun and educational collection for young animal lovers.
Additionally, each section could be used to create an individual book on that animal species or family specifically.
The content and images could be used in exactly the same format or it could be repurposed with more images – presently all the images are black and white.
In the back of the book there are appendices which include the following topics:
- - Hardy Exotic Fishes
- - Water for the Aquarium
- - Treatment of Diseased Fish
Each appendix is a very helpful tool and could be used as bonus material or separate products all together.
All this book needs are a few colorful photographs and a bit of fact checking to make sure the advice and information is still accurate and it’s ready to be marketed to aquarium enthusiasts far and wide.
