More Tips For Bloggers Than Days Left Until Christmas

I love to read the helpful hints Chris Brogan writes about in his daily blog posts. I had a chance to meet Chris at Blog World 08 in Las Vegas – but alas my best friend Tawn got that chance instead. We were both in a very crowded room during the last session of the last day of this wonderful event.

I choose to keep standing against the wall… while she (being the selfish girl she is) (Kidding Tawn!) choose to schooch (our word for moving around a room while trying not to be noticed) her way over to a place where she could sit on the floor. Guess who she sat next to??? Yep, Chris Brogan.

This is how connections at these large events are sometimes made… LOL. I sooo missed out.

Anyway… I just had to share this idea filled article that Chris wrote about providing killer content (articles) for your blog.

He gives 40 tips and ideas! Yep… 40 – and they start out like this:

The Basics

  1. Brevity rules. Can you say it briefly?
  2. Start at the main point, then work the story up. (Make the main point in the first paragraph.)
  3. Use small words. You don’t have to impress people. You have to be clear.
  4. Analogies help people understand things better.
  5. So do stories.
  6. You don’t have to write complete sentences, even though your teacher taught you to do that. But treat it sparingly. Like this. Like a condiment.

Want to see all 40?

Well you have to send me $100 bucks via Snail Mail or Homing Pigeon (which ever you prefer) and in a few weeks I might get around sharing the link to his “Free for anyone to see” blog post.

Kidding again… when did I get to be such a “jokester”?

Here is the link to all his 40 tips

Plus he shares another great article – Advice About Blogging

Thanks Chris for all that you do!
