Is It Worth Your Time To Use Public Domain Content?

Providing content for your Internet marketing strategy can be a daunting task. Coming up with ideas for advertising, blog posts, newsletters, articles, etc. can take a large amount of time, and creating them takes even longer.

There are those people out there who are blessed with the inspiration needed to successfully and quickly come up with this content, and they’re probably not reading this article seeking help and suggestions.

Others have the funds available to outsource content products, requesting other’s ideas and work to implement into their Internet market strategy.

You could hire an associate to create your business’s advertisement content, paying anywhere from $5 to $50 (or more) for the completed project. There’s always the chance that the person you hired has different taste or perspective than you, and you might not get the outcome you desired.

You still have to pay the person you’ve hired for their time and energy, meanwhile hiring another person to try it again. Or maybe at this point you decide to try it on your own and put together your own content for your Internet marketing strategy.

Starting from scratch can be very intimidating. Not only do you need to know how to design ads, write posts, submit articles, etc, but you need to have content readily available to you so you’re not wasting time as you create your outline. Before you start making your own material to enhance your strategy, search through public domain content and see what’s available to you.

Use Public Domain Content

Public domain content is free content that does not have copyright laws attached to it. You can search through it to find articles, photographs, drawings, even use the layouts you find in magazines.

You may be able to find content related to your business that you can use directly in your own work, you can combine different content together to come up with new content, or you can combine your own work with the content you find.

For example, if you are in business as a tutor, you can search public domain content for anything school-related.

  • Articles on the importance of early childhood reading or easy ways to teach your child math would be great as newsletters or articles that you could submit to local newspapers free of charge.
  • Finding creative slogans about the importance of children learning could be used on your Web site or as part of an advertisement you design and place.

The possibilities of using public domain content are endless, and by using it you’ll be able to save your money and put it to use elsewhere.

Ha! I learnt to type on just such a typewriter! An old Imperial, looked just like the one in your photo!! Makes me feel ancient! Wonder if that puts me in the public domain?!
Seriously, it sure beats starting with a white sheet of paper.
