Yep, issue #1 of the Public Domain magazine did have links to Youtube - and now the video&#039;s have been removed by the &quot;creator&quot; not YouTube.

Many of the films have been taken down...not because the original films aren&#039;t public domain but because as you know when someone uses a public domain work to create a new work of creativity, that
new work gets protected by copyright. It&#039;s the people that created these derivative works that had a problem with youtube users who were using these new films without permission.

you had some links to movies from the Public Domain on Youtube. I clicked thru to a few of those videos and was very surprised to find a not that said the video had been removed because of copyright violation. One had the account canceled because of the same thing. If these are public domain movies what circumstances would bring about this result?
